Venios provides a cloud-based Geo Information System (GIS) suitable for detecting and analyzing critical conditions of the power grid infrastructure originating from the feed-in of renewable energy.
Since the current power infrastructure has not been designed to cover discontinuous feed-in from the low voltage domain, the growing integration of renewable energy increasingly often leads to instabilities of the power grid. The proposed solution will be able to forecast such critical areas in the power grid and provide network operators with crucial information in order to seize suitable measures such as efficient planning for grid extension measures and enables control of intelligent grid components, e.g. variable transformer substations or storage solutions.
